Sizing

Measure the foot. Ignore the age.

Toddler feet at the same birthday are wildly different. I know because I have three that arrived on the same day.

Measuring

  1. Stand them on a piece of paper and mark the back of the heel and the tip of the longest toe.

  2. Measure between the marks. Centimeters or inches, either works.

  3. Type it in below, or find it on the chart. The size is the foot length. Between two sizes, take the bigger one. They're growing.

Tall cuff, normal fit. The cuff runs tall, which can make the first try feel tight. Once they're on, they fit like a sock.

Getting them on

  1. Sit them on your lap, facing away. Way easier than face to face. Roll the cuff down toward the sole, like you're about to put on a sock.

  2. Toes in first. Keep the cuff rolled while the foot goes in.

  3. Get the heel all the way back. Pull gently while they push their foot in. It stretches.

  4. Roll the cuff back up over the ankle. On wet days, pants go over the top.

33 seconds. The first try takes a minute. It gets faster.

Still feels tight on the cuff?

Lightly wet the cuff, stretch it over something rounded like the arm of a chair, and let it dry stretched overnight. They also loosen up and shape to the foot over the first week or two.

Most toddlers can't put them on alone at first. Most figure it out.
